The Love For High Heels
posted @ 11:30 pm in [ Clothing ]

I probably do not understand this shoe thing, so I am publishing an article from a guy who seems to. Enjoy

In this oh so chic ultra high fashion world of today, it is not surprising that most little girls even as early as the age of 5 have a great interest for fashion magazines; flipping and staring at the glossy pages of models wearing the latest dress collection for spring or for autumn and for every season there is. Young girls have been found engaged in watching television gazing at the currently famous movie stars and Hollywood actors looking intently at every detail of their gown, their shirts, their jeans, their necklaces, their earrings and most of all, their high heels. Yes people, stilettos are still the in thing since then and until today. Every girl has at one point or another dreamed that one day when they have fully grown to be the woman they were born to be, they will get to own their very own pair of high heels and show the world what they got when it comes to style.

But there is more to high heels than just being a fad and making one look particularly trendy and vogue. For one high heels as its name suggest puts you in a higher place, that is literally from 3 to 4 or even more inches above the ground. This fact proves to be quite the solution for petite women who have always wanted to have that added height. Being vertically challenged may take a toll on some people. For one, it is usually the short people who gets picked on, intimidated and oppressed by their taller counterparts. With the help of high heels, the little people not only get altitude but a lot of them get the self confidence that they should have had in the first place.

Talking about confidence, such does not only come from being taller but also due to the actuality that a lot of people believe that high heels also make you look thinner and thus, sexier. These two convictions of being thinner and of being sexier may seem like a myth for some individuals but there is more truth to it than most people think. Because high heels elevate, they also make the legs appear elongated and therefore, create the illusion of thin legs and a thinner you. With this said, it is no longer a question why high heels make a person feel more sexy. Confidence does a lot to make a person sexy. High heels add another plus when it improves your posture. Wearing the heels makes you change your body stance. Such change makes your calf muscles become more prominent and well defined with your chest pushed out and butt out.

Most fashion aficionados know that high heels can be the very thing that can make or break an outfit. A skirt looks sexier when paired with high heels. A pair of pants can look more girly with high heels on. And all this confidence and sexiness comes at a small price. A lot of high heels are very affordable that any woman can have at least a pair. So make your feet happy and get those heels.

posted @ 5:25 pm in [ Clothing ]

Are you running out of storage space for your growing collection of shoes? You may need to reorganize and sort which types of shoes you really need and which ones you can throw away or donate. Despite the fact that buying shoes is fun and wearing a good buy is even better, you only really need a few classic pairs that will prove to be good investments on your part.

Knee high boots

You may think it isn’t essential to your other pairs of shoes, but the right knee high boots should be part of your shoe repertoire. A pair of knee high boots is a classic and chic statement that will outlast the latest fads.

You’re better off with one pair of knee high boots than several pairs of the latest craze that may not last till the end of the season. Just remember that knee high boots come in handy during cool weather because it is stylish and practical as it helps to keep you warm.

You can choose from a flat or high heeled knee high boots and comfort as well as style should help guide you.

Sneakers

If your pair of sneakers are about to face extinction from its sever wear and tear, go out and get a new one or better yet, get those trendy lifestyle shoes that basically look like regular walking shoes with rubber soles. Nothing says laid back and active at the same time quite like these type of shoes.

You can use this to walk through the park, go to mall with, or just any other type of everyday activity. Aside from it versatility in function, it is versatile in style as well. You can pair these types of shoes with virtually anything like short cropped pants, shorts, jeans and even short skirts.

Party hardy shoes

Sometimes, plain black just won’t cut it and in some cases, a metallic high heeled dress shoe is needed to add the necessary pizzazz to your outfit and general look. For painting the town red, pair your cute dress with a metallic and super strappy stiletto.

Semi casual flats

Have something you can wear with jeans and with other not too formal outfits by making sure you have a pair of semi casual flats. These are very versatile and stylish as well and should have a permanent place in your shoe storage closet.

posted @ 8:25 pm in [ Clothing ]

Advantage # 72 to being a man.
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.

What is with all the shoe jokes?

Ladies. There is really no need to have hundreds of shoes in your closet. A couple of pairs are enough as long as you have one for every occasion that you will be attending. This is especially true if you aren’t the type to go out often or if you just don’t have the budget to buy as many pairs as you want to. The key to building a good shoe wardrobe is to keep it simple and basic.

Unchained Melody
posted @ 6:00 am in [ Famous Writings ]

At the other end of my relationship (when we were trying to reconcile) I used this song. I used to call up my wife and instead of saying hello, I would play 10 or 15 seconds of Unchained Melody to her before we would talk.

I first remember this one as the love theme from “Ghost”. It was beautiful.

Here is part of this famous Righteous Brothers song.

Whoa! My love, my darling,
I hunger for your touch,
Alone. Lonely time.
And time goes by, so slowly,
And time can do so much,
Are you still mine?
I need your love.
I need your love.
God speed your love to me.

By the way, for all the romantics out there, my wedding day was 32 years ago today. Alas, the love died, but the good memories persist.

Here’s to women (girls) everywhere.

Love Letter # 1
posted @ 12:26 pm in [ Famous Writings ]

May 12, 1869

Out of the depths of my happy heart wells a great tide of love and prayer for this priceless treasure that is confided to my life-long keeping.

You cannot see its intangible waves as they flow towards you, darling, but in these lines you will hear, as it were, the distant beating of the surf.

Your Song
posted @ 12:17 pm in [ Famous Writings ]

When I was dating my later-to-be wife I was working a summer job as a daftsman. One of our favourite songs at that time was Elton John’s Your Song.

One day I took a small piece of a translucent plastic like material and carefully printed the entire song on it using a special little tool we had at work. I then bundled it up with a card and presented it to her.

Anyhow, here is the chorus of that famous song that I dedicated to my true love (get out the kleenex!)

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it’s done
I hope you don’t mind, I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you’re in the world

A guy I know calls this the original stalking song.

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I’ll be watching you

Standing on the Corner
posted @ 10:02 pm in [ Famous Writings ]

I just had to start my new blog off like this! Talk about famous writings on the topic of GIRLS.

Standing on the corner
watching all the girls go by
Standing on the corner
watching all the girls go by
Brother you don’t know a nicer occupation
Matter of fact, neither do I
Than standing on the corner
watching all the girls,
watching all the girls,
watching all the girls go by

The Four Lads were a Canadian singing group. They grew up together in Toronto, Ontario, and were members of St. Michael’s Choir School, where they learned to sing. “Standing on the Corner” (1956) is their second best known hit, after “Moments to Remember” (1955).
