Seems like launching a lingerie line is the thing for a female star to do. Especially one who is famous for a certain clothing problem!

Janet is working with Bruno Schiavi, who is an Australian lingerie designer, on the new line, called Pleasure Principle. Janet was quoted as saying, “I hate when you’ve had on a bra all day long and you just can’t wait to take it off — every woman has experienced that.” Jackson plans to make sure her line is oh so comfortable.

Actress Eva Mendes is starring in 2 new ad campaigns for Calvin Klein. She will be featured in ads for both their Seductive Underwear collection and Secret Obsession scent. Ads should be in September publications.

Macrida Patterson, a 52-year-old Los Angeles traffic officer, told NBC’s “Today” show that she suffered cuts to her cornea when a small piece of metal, that had been used to secure a rhinestone heart onto her blue thong, flew off and hit her in the eye.

A new line of lingerie called Jessica Simpson Intimates has been announced. Simpson’s new collection will include bras, panties, panty-line erasing shape wear, and sleepwear. This joins her already successful collections of handbags, sunglasses and swimsuits.

“I like different lingerie for different occasions,” says the singer-designer. “I think that’s the best thing about it; you can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood. Lingerie makes you feel beautiful from the inside out. I think if you start with something that fits correctly and is comfortable and fashionable it will only compliment your look.”

The Jessica Simpson Intimates line is due on store shelves in Spring 2009.

Wonderbra has a chest full of designs. To celebrate, they are looking for 1,000 women (any shape, any size) to take part in what could be Britain’s biggest lingerie photo shoot. The company is using a cheeky advertisement, which celebrates female ‘diversity’ by flashing pictures of, among others, coconuts, fried eggs, milk jugs and puppies.

There are many theories on why women love to wear lingerie. For women it isn’t about whether or not anyone else will see it, it is for themselves. How women perceive themselves helps their over all self esteem. If you think you look sexy in that camisole, then you are sexy. Looking and feeling good is a big part our society today. Many people assume when a woman wears lingerie that it is solely for a man’s pleasure. Even though lingerie has been worn for centuries for the pleasure of the opposite sex, it has never been the main focus for women. It is more of a notion of self-image and feeling attractive for ones self rather than for anybody else. The first thing you want to think about when shopping for your lady is that you are shopping for HER, not you. That statement cannot be said enough. Just because you find something sexy and alluring does not mean she does or that she feels comfortable in it. If she does not like it, or feel good in it, she will not wear it.

So do not run out and get the most revealing, uncomfortable piece of lingerie known to man just because it is eye candy. This will probably get your purchase used as a rag or in the garbage can when you are at work. You want to ask yourself what would she wear. What does she like? • The difference between a Chemise and a Baby Doll is that a chemise is more conservative and a bit longer. The Baby Doll has bra like cups and is a bit shorter and more revealing. Baby Dolls often come with matching panties, and chemises usually do not.
• Then there are the teddies that are like a one-piece outfit.

Now that you know the basic styles, next you must know her size. Here is the most confusing part about lingerie shopping. There is more than one size type depending on the type of lingerie you purchase. When buying any lingerie that has cups in it you will have to know her bra size. This is the size that says 32 B, 36 D, 34 C, etc. This is critical to know or she will not fit into it properly and will not wear it. For all other types of lingerie you will have to know her shirt and dress size. You will want to know both the number and generic size. Look on her clothing to see if she is an 8, 10, 6, etc. then look on other articles to see if she wears a small, medium, or large. If you buy something too small she will think you want a smaller woman. To buy something too big, she will think that you think she is fat. You must have the right size so she knows you want her.

Now you have the style and the size. What’s next? Color. Go through her drawers and see what colors she likes. Pick out a color that enhances her eyes and skin tone. See what other lingerie she has. This will help you find the perfect style and color for her that she will enjoy. Take your time while shopping and don’t rush things. You can also always ask for help if you are having a hard time finding what you are looking for. Always go with items that have adjustable straps. This will allow her to fit the garment right for her body. Detachable straps are always good too, especially with corsets and bustiers. This will allow her to determine if she is comfortable with out the straps or is almost like two outfits in one. When buying matching panties you will want to know what style she wears and get that kind. For garters and stockings make sure you are positive she likes these and that they have adjustable straps.
