Macrida Patterson, a 52-year-old Los Angeles traffic officer, told NBC’s “Today” show that she suffered cuts to her cornea when a small piece of metal, that had been used to secure a rhinestone heart onto her blue thong, flew off and hit her in the eye.

A new line of lingerie called Jessica Simpson Intimates has been announced. Simpson’s new collection will include bras, panties, panty-line erasing shape wear, and sleepwear. This joins her already successful collections of handbags, sunglasses and swimsuits.
“I like different lingerie for different occasions,” says the singer-designer. “I think that’s the best thing about it; you can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood. Lingerie makes you feel beautiful from the inside out. I think if you start with something that fits correctly and is comfortable and fashionable it will only compliment your look.”
The Jessica Simpson Intimates line is due on store shelves in Spring 2009.
Wonderbra has a chest full of designs. To celebrate, they are looking for 1,000 women (any shape, any size) to take part in what could be Britain’s biggest lingerie photo shoot. The company is using a cheeky advertisement, which celebrates female ‘diversity’ by flashing pictures of, among others, coconuts, fried eggs, milk jugs and puppies.
There are many theories on why women love to wear lingerie. For women it isn’t about whether or not anyone else will see it, it is for themselves. How women perceive themselves helps their over all self esteem. If you think you look sexy in that camisole, then you are sexy. Looking and feeling good is a big part our society today. Many people assume when a woman wears lingerie that it is solely for a man’s pleasure. Even though lingerie has been worn for centuries for the pleasure of the opposite sex, it has never been the main focus for women. It is more of a notion of self-image and feeling attractive for ones self rather than for anybody else. There is more than one size type depending on the type of lingerie you purchase. When buying any lingerie that has cups in it you will have to know her bra size. This is the size that says 32 B, 36 D, 34 C, etc. This is critical to know or she will not fit into it properly and will not wear it. For all other types of lingerie you will have to know her shirt and dress size. You will want to know both the number and generic size. Look on her clothing to see if she is an 8, 10, 6, etc. then look on other articles to see if she wears a small, medium, or large. If you buy something too small she will think you want a smaller woman. To buy something too big, she will think that you think she is fat. You must have the right size so she knows you want her.
Now you have the style and the size. What’s next? Color. Go through her drawers and see what colors she likes. Pick out a color that enhances her eyes and skin tone. See what other lingerie she has. This will help you find the perfect style and color for her that she will enjoy. Take your time while shopping and don’t rush things. You can also always ask for help if you are having a hard time finding what you are looking for. Always go with items that have adjustable straps. This will allow her to fit the garment right for her body. Detachable straps are always good too, especially with corsets and bustiers. This will allow her to determine if she is comfortable with out the straps or is almost like two outfits in one. When buying matching panties you will want to know what style she wears and get that kind. For garters and stockings make sure you are positive she likes these and that they have adjustable straps.
Above all, have fun shopping and make it exciting for her. When done right, you can expect to go out again and again together, which is the best fun.
